Welcome!

Hi there and welcome to Freebie Hunters! One of our favorite pastimes in Second Life is scouting the grid for fantastic hunts, sales, events and gifts from all the wonderful creators. We thought we'd share the wealth and showcase some of our finds in this blog, with an emphasis on the goodies available in various SL events and hunts. We do our best to show ALL items from a hunt/event and in the manner the creator intended, but this is not always possible.

***UPDATE August, 2018- We are still finding freebie/nearly free items to share with you, but due to RL time constraints, a lot of what we find is being posted solely on Flickr. If you would like to follow the events being posted there, here is a link to the album page for our account: Flickr Albums. These are not blog posts, but simply pictures of the gifts available. Thank you!

Thank You to all of the creators!

A Clockwork Spiral, pt. 2

There are still a few days left to visit the Clockwork Spiral event before it is finished. If you like steampunk, if you like Victoriana, if you like unusual pieces with a flair, this is not an event you want to miss PLUS you can feel good about shopping since many of the items offered at the event donate 100 to 50% of their price to the National Kidney Foundation. It's a good cause, so be sure to make some time to visit the floating Clockwork Spiral build before its gone!

We had a couple late entries sneek into our blogger box, so here is another little peek at some of what you can find!

A Clockwork Spiral, pt. 1

The magnificently talented folks who brought us the World Goth Day fair have been hard at work on another event aimed at helping a worth-while charity. They unveiled A Clockwork Spiral yesterday in support of the National Kidney Foundation. The event will run from September 18th until September 22nd, so this is a very limited time affair. The event is steampunk/dieselpunk/Victorian/goth themed and each merchant has items up for sale which donate 100% or 50% to NKF, in addition to their other items. There are gacha machines and the Gothika Mobile Unit is set up for a music event on September 20th (Lokii Violet is DJing, Eden Malik is hosting, and there are prizes being given out) at the dirigible in the center of the build.

This is an amazing event - we were lucky enough to get access to the sim before it was opened to the public and took some great shots highlighting all the work that went into this airborne build.

There is so much more to see than what we have to share here, so be sure to make time to visit A Clockwork Spiral and please consider donating to the National Kidney Foundation.

Twisted Carnival, pt. 5

We're continuing our adventure through the dark thrills of Twisted Carnival with another look at some of the amazing gifts awaiting the brave hunters who manage to wade through the seas of decoys, hungry cubes, pitfalls and traps laid out by the Twisted merchants. If you are a veteran Twisted hunter, you will love the tremendous amount of work the merchants have put into creating a carnival experience worthy of the Twisted name. If you are a Twisted virgin - well...best of luck! By the end of the hunt (assuming you survive that long), you will be hooked and craving your twice-yearly Twisted fix along with the rest of us. Start now if you haven't already - there is so much to do and see, you are going to need the full month to appreciate it all!

Cheers,
