Hi there and welcome to Freebie Hunters! One of our favorite pastimes in Second Life is scouting the grid for fantastic hunts, sales, events and gifts from all the wonderful creators. We thought we'd share the wealth and showcase some of our finds in this blog, with an emphasis on the goodies available in various SL events and hunts. We do our best to show ALL items from a hunt/event and in the manner the creator intended, but this is not always possible.

***UPDATE August, 2018- We are still finding freebie/nearly free items to share with you, but due to RL time constraints, a lot of what we find is being posted solely on Flickr. WGF '14 Band Hoodies!


THEY'RE HERE!! (Ok, technically, they were here the day before yesterday, but this is the first chance I got to put them up on the blog!) Last year's officially licensed, limited edition band t-shirts were such a hit, the great folks with Cursed Events decided to do it again this year, only they upped the ante - instead of t-shirts, this year they went with gorgeous hoodies for him and her! 100% of the proceeds from the band hoodies goes to the Sophie Lancaster Foundation, so don't be shy about hitting up the gacha machines (only 40L per play!) until you get your favorites.

All the hoodies come for boy and for girls, so be sure you are playing the correct machine for your gender preference! Also, for those who love them all and want the whole fatpack of 35 hoodies, there are boxed sets for sale without having to play the gacha machines. The gachas and fatpack sets can be found on all three sims, so locating them is pretty easy.

Keep in mind - these are available until the end of the Fair, but once they are gone - they are gone!  Get them now before you miss your chance.

WGF '14, pt. 6


Whew!  We've finally come to the end of all the awesome items we have to show you from World Goth Fair 2014, which is in full swing right now in Second Life.  However, just because we've run out of stuff does not mean the Fair is out of things to do, see and shop for!  Three sims' worth of shops means there is a TON of great stuff still waiting to be found as you visit the Event, and don't forget the Gacha swamp located on Sium if you like a gamble.

Shopping aside, there are some really great music events coming up at the Gothika mobile unit on May 22nd, the official World Goth Day:  There will be 6 DJs playing from noon to midnight SLT, with events ranging from Best in Black to Best in Cyber to Best in Goth.  There will be prizes - both in-world stuff and RL merchandise donated by various bands.  All proceeds from Gothika on that day will be donated to the Sophie Lancaster Foundation as well.

(There should also hopefully be the officially licensed band hoodies available - and yes, I have been haunting the Fair looking for when they are released because I loved last year's official shirts that much!)

WGF '14, pt. 5


I finally had some time yesterday to spend wandering around the three World Goth Fair sims (yes, they do occasionally let me out!) and I have got to say, the finished builds are amazing!  I had a look around before the event opened to the public, but at that time most of the stores were not set up and they were still doing finishing touches on the builds themselves.  Seeing it all completed and filled up just really drove home how gorgeous the builds (and talented the builders) actually are.  Even if goth is not your cup of tea, its worth it to come out and just take a stroll around.

And, of course, for those of you who live, breathe, eat goth - this event is right up your alley!  I've been doing the blog for a long time now, and I can honestly say this is one of the best events I've seen in a while in terms of the quality of the items for sale.  There is some seriously good stuff available at WGF and the money goes for a good cause, which makes the stuff you buy even better.  And yes - you are here for the pictures, not my ramblings, so...take a look at the latest batch of gothy goodness you can find at this year's World Goth Fair.

WGF'14, pt. 4


I thought I was ahead of the curve, that I was all caught up on getting stuff ready for posts.....foolish blogger!  =)   In addition to the already planned stuff I have to share with you guys, I managed to get my hands on a few more boxes of stuff AND we haven't even seen the officially licensed band shirts for this year (that's right - officially licensed for WGF!), although I hear they are coming soon.  (Or might be here - I haven't been into SL yet today, I have been locked away putting together this post!)

You know the drill - World Goth Fair is an annual event in SL.  It is a charity event, with the proceeds going to the Sophie Lancaster Foundation.  There are lots of stores taking part - 3 sims' worth, in fact - with many items being exclusive to the event.  There is also a gacha pond located in Sium, for those who want to brave the tentacles.  Club Gothika has a mobile unit set up on Cursed so there is music and events are planned there as well (check the official blog for schedules and more info).
